Marist Swim Club had a total of 11 swimmers qualify to represent the Hudson Valley Region at the Empire State Games: Jennifer Aiello, Olivia Baczek, Emily Boyko, Eric Culver, Simon Haas, Shekinah Hoffman, Mike Meck, Brenna Munz, Alan Roberts, Ryan Seagren and Katie Watson.

Ulster County Hawks Timing Schedule is now posted ... there is no admission fee to this meet, instead Marist Swim Club must provide timers ... please cooperate.

Senior Met Timing Schedule: As you can see, Marist is responsible for providing 2 timers for the Friday PM (Finals) session, 1 timer for the Saturday AM session (Prelims), 2 timers for the Saturday PM (Finals) session, 1 timer for the Sunday AM (Prelims) session and 2 timers for the Sunday PM (Finals) session. Top 24 make it back for finals.
Please check the sign-in sheet located on the pool deck at Lehman to make sure that Marist is covered for timers.
Every parent needs to take at least one turn timing ... we need to provide 8 timers over the course of the weekend and no one parent should have to time the entire session (or multiple sessions) when we have 13 club swimmers entered into the meet.

Coach Hudson is coaching 4-5:30 only those swimmers going to Junior Olympics in the 10/under group: Katie/Paul/Ina/Chloe on Tuesday Wednesday and Friday of next week. Ameera is to show up at this time. Coach Hudson will be at Zone Qualifier Saturday and Sunday this weekend. No practice for 10/under Monday. Coach Hudson will be on deck for these swimmers in Long Island.

All other swimmers in the 10-under group and 8/under group are finished swimming for the winter session.

Congratulations to the 8/under swimmers for placing 8th place overall in the 8/under championships held this past weekend at Leman College. Marist Swim Club had a total of 10 swimmers at his meet competing against 20 metro swim clubs with 25 or more swimmers in their club … pretty impressive! Thanks to all our parents who supported their club and coach for this meet … we could not have done it without you. A big thank you to Coach Savannah for filling in for Coach Hudson this past weekend … she did a great job.

Silver Championship Warm up / Start Change:

The afternoon warm ups will now be at 2:00 PM with a 3:00 PM start.

Please advise your swimmers in the 11 -12 and 15 – 18 age groups about the time change.

Warm up times for Silvers will be as follows:
Friday, 2/29 - warm up 4:00pm (all age groups) ~ NO CHANGE
Saturday, 3/1 - morning warm up 7:30am (for 10&U, 13-14) ~ NO CHANGE
Saturday 3/1 - AFTERNOON WARM UP now 2:00pm (for 11-12, 15-18)
Sunday, 3/2 - morning warm up 7:30 am (for 10&U, 13-14) ~ NO CHANGE

The athletes will be seeded from the gym down the hall, so please remind your swimmers to bring warm up suits, and sandals. A mat to sit on and maybe some cards or hand held toys to entertain themselves between events. Please ask your parents to visit the gym to help us supervise and maintain a safe environment for all meet participants.

Linda will be on deck Saturday and Sunday for Silvers. All swimmers are to be on time
for warm ups since there will be assigned lanes for warm ups. If you are late there will be no warm up for that swimmer. This includes the afternoon sessions for the older swimmers. Be on time.
Please Note: Linda's 4-5 Group: 9 & Under swimmers are to be at practice for the remainder of the season (starting tomorrow) with Linda until the season ends.

On March 13th the award's dinner is from 4-5 at Coyote grill.
ALL PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING WEB SITE TO SEE IF PRACTICE IS CANCELLED OR FOR ANY OTHER CHANGES.
Please note any swimmer who has qualified for Silvers or Junior Olympics should be at practice every day following a taper. Any swimmer who has not made these cuts are to continue practice and are not to interfere with other swimmers by being late or fooling around in the water.

VAC MEET ~ PARENT HELP NEEDED:
THERE ARE TO BE 2 PARENTS FROM LINDA'S GROUP AND ONE PARENT FROM JILLIAN'S GROUP AT ALL TIMES IN THE GYM WITH THE MARIST SWIMMERS AT THE VAC MEET. WE SUGGEST THAT PARENTS OFFER 1 HOUR OF THEIR TIME AND THEN HAVE OTHER PARENTS IN. COACHES WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SITTING WITH THE SWIMMERS ~ COACHES NEED TO STAY ON DECK.
THE SWIMMERS WILL BE LINED UP IN THE GYM FOR THEIR EVENT AND THEY WILL BE LED OUT TO POOL FOR THE EVENT. WHEN THE ANNOUNCER CALLS OUT THEIR EVENT #, THEY MUST BE RESPONSIBLE TO LISTEN FOR IT. THEY ARE TO LEAVE THE POOL DIRECTLY AFTER THEIR EVENT AND RETURN TO THE GYM. NO SWIMMERS ARE ALLOWED TO SIT IN THE SPECTATOR AREA DURING THE MEET. BRING BOOKS, CARDS, OR COLORING CRAYONS. ALL BALLS AND OTHER THROW TOYS WILL BE TAKEN FROM THE SWIMMER BY THE COACH AND RETURNED TO THEM AFTER THE MEET. THERE IS TO BE NO RUNNING OR GYMNASTICS IN THE GYM. LINDA'S AND JILLIAN'S GROUP WILL HAVE THEIR EVENT #''S WRITTEN ON THEIR HANDS.

Halloween Party: October 30th 4:00-5:30

Linda's M-F Group and Tues/Thursday Group are to come at 4:00 on October 30th. They will be through at 5:30. Linda will resume practice for her regular group at 4:00 on Wednesday the 31st.

Jillian's Group to come at 4:00 on October 30th and swim from 5:00 - 6:30.

Mike's Group to come at 4:00 on October 30th and swim from 5:00 - 6:30. All older swimmers are expected to participate.

Wear Swim Suits, Goggles and Swim Caps.
