This year's Marist Swim Club's Christmas Meet will have an abundant
number of swimmers. We will need the patience, cooperation and
participation from ALL MSC parents / family members in order for the
meet to run as smoothly as possible. This meet is very popular
among coaches, parents and swimmers alike due in part to the
professionalism and hard work put forth by the MSC volunteers and
coaches. This year we hope will be no different. Please contact
me at the following number / address in order to volunteer for the
various meet jobs. A friendly reminder that your obligation
requires you to work each session that your child / children are
swimming. Thank you in advance.

From Coach VanWagner:
To the parents of all 12 and under swimmers, please do not drop off
your swimmers early. They need to be escorted into the building at
4:45 for practice. They are not to be left unattended. We are guests
of the college. Thank you.

Hello Visiting Teams!
We have been
working hard to prepare for the Viking Classic this weekend. We hope
your swimmers are all well and ready to swim fast.
Just a few things
to help everyone prepare for the meet.
1.) Please remind
all your coaches that they must wear their USA Swimming Credentials
so that they are visible.
2.)
The warmup for Friday will begin at 1:00
p.m. Lane assignments will be posted.
Warm-ups will begin at 7:30 a.m. for
both Saturday and Sunday morning and will be posted Friday night.
Marist coaches ask that
Saturday and Sunday morning swimmers (9-10 and 13-14) be there by
7:15am. (A few 11-12 swimmers were sent home with a note saying to
be at the pool at 7:15. This is an error. Only 9-10 and 13-14
swimmers swim in the morning)
Saturday and Sunday
afternoon swimmers (8 & Under, 11-12 and Open) warm-ups are
scheduled to begin at 1:00pm
3.)
Parking - Please advise the visiting parents to only park in
lined spots in the lots. There is more than enough
parking
on both ends of the schools. The Town has informed us that
they WILL ticket and tow cars not parked in legal lines
spots.
4.) The swimmers
will be on deck on Friday and will be seeded from the gym on
Saturday and Sunday. Please encourage swimmers to dress
appropriately. They can bring mats to sit on and hand held toys,
cards, etc. No ball playing will be allowed. We believe that your
swimmers will be great examples on how to sit in the gym properly
and to respect the school's property. Encourage parents to visit the
gym often to help us insure a safe environment for all swimmers.
Having one or two parents sit with swimmers in the gym is ideal to
assist them with making sure they get to their events. Please remind
them to have their personal items labeled and put away when they are
swimming. VAC
will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged
property.
5.) Please take
note so that you can plan accordingly, relays are held in the middle
of each session.
6.) Just a
reminder for Session 2 swimmers - they are to supply their own
timers and counters.
7.) We are
encouraging that after swimming their event - all swimmers return
back to the gym to keep the deck as clear as possible for everyone's
safety.
8.) We will have a
full concession stand, t-shirt vendor, swim gear vendor, and
action-shot photographer on hand to make your swimmer's weekend at
the Classic a memorable and enjoyable experience.
