We have some very sad news ... we lost Lizzie Miller, a member of our swim family, over the weekend.  Lizzie always brought a ray of sunshine with her wherever she went ... she will be terribly missed by all of us. 

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Thursday, June 25, at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:45 a.m., Friday, June 26, at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main St., Poughkeepsie.

The LIAC Meet being held June 6-7 has made some changes to the format.  This meet is a VERY full meet and they moved some events that were originally slated for Saturday and Sunday to a Friday PM session. 

Marist Swim Club has decided NOT to attend the Friday Session. 

We will be attending Saturday and Sunday ONLY as originally planned.

We need your cooperation with your parents. Please explain to them that this is a very large event, we will be running from both sides, doing chase starts and remind them that they must stay off the deck. A new Age Group/Junior Group Meet, Starfish Meter Madness, has been added to the calendar for May 31.  The scratch deadline is April 22.  We have already been closed out of 2 meets and will try to get into this one.

Welcome Back ... the PRELIMINARY Meet Schedule is posted under Entries/Results ... please note the scratch deadlines.  Summer meets fill quickly and close quickly so please do not miss the scratch deadline if your swimmer is unable to attend a meet.  Each swimmer is expected to participate in ALL meets but is required to attend a minimum of 3 meets during the summer season.

Important Letter regarding the Silver Championship Meet:

Hello Teams!

We have been busy getting the Silvers North meet set up and I want to give you some updated information that you can pass onto your swimmers and families.

-  As indicated in the meet information, we would adjust the afternoon start time in order to better accommodate all the entries. To avoid over lapping the morning and afternoon sessions, we will move the afternoon sessions back ½ hour. The afternoon sessions on Saturday and Sunday will have a 2:00 PM warm up and a 3:00 PM start.

-  Swimmers will be seeded from the nearby gym on Saturday and Sunday. Friday night swimmers will be on deck. Please ask parents to go to the gym to help us police the swimmers and keep everyone safe and on time for their events.

 
-  Absolutely no time trials – there will be no time!

-  Please advise parents that there is plenty of parking and they must park in designated lined spots or they will be ticketed and fined by the town of Montgomery. We will post signs as well.

-  Also please remind swimmers. parents and coaches that the clocks change on Saturday night. Remember to set the clocks ahead one hour. It is a full meet; we will not be able to hold up the start for late arrivals.

NO OTHER AGE GROUPS ARE INVOLVED. HENRY'S SWIMMERS ARE TO FOLLOW SAME PRACTICE TIME FOR THAT DAY.

We need to make you aware of a situation that occurred yesterday. Marist College is having a Women’s Basketball game on Saturday, December 20 at 2pm. They are anticipating anywhere between 1000 and 2000 spectators. As we all know, we are guests of the College and we need to abide by their rules. We are unable to be in the building or parking lot between the hours of 12 and 4. As you can imagine this will greatly impact our meet. We have come up with a compromise that Marist College has agreed to.
Friday will remain the same.
Session 1: 1000 Free – 1pm Warm-up and a 2pm Start.
Session 2: 4pm Warm-up and a 5pm Start
***CHANGE Session 3: Saturday AM - 7am Warm-up and an 8am Start.
***CHANGE Session 4: Saturday PM - 4pm Warm-up and a 5pm Start.
Sunday will remain the same.
Session 5: 8am Warm-up and a 9am Start
Session 6: 1pm Warm-up and a 2pm Start
If this poses a problem for you, please let Erika (maristswimclub@hotmail.com) know by Friday and your swimmer will be removed and your meet kitty will not be charged.

There will be NO PRACTICE - ALL GROUPS on Thursday 9/18 AND Friday 9/19.  The parent meeting has been rescheduled to Friday 9/26 @ 5:00. 

Erika Carlino will have team suits available for sizing on Friday 9/26 @ 3:30.  The suits will need to be ordered.  You will need a check payable to Ultimate Swim Shop ... girls suits are $51.75 and boys are $32.25.  Ultimate swim shop will be at our meet on October 17 with practice suits, goggles, caps, fast skins, back packs etc available for purchase.
